PUCHONG BIKERS return to Hat Yai

As the title states, this trip is all about our return to Hat Yai after 3 years. You can read all about the first trip here:

PUCHONG BIKERS' first trip to Hat Yai

The journey for this trip is a tad different. Sal is now pregnant so she can't ride either on her own or with me. We therefore had to split the journey. I'll be riding and Sal will be flying to Hat Yai

KH:

I started off my journey at around 1:30 am. I rode solo because I was riding Sal's bike and we can only cruise at 120-140km/h. The rest of the Puchong Bikers rode together.

I left R&R Rawang at 1:51am and arrived at R&R Juru at around 4:31am.....a whole hour ahead of the group....eventhough I was riding a lot slower than them at 120-130km/h. hehehehe

Stopped for Fajr prayer at a masjid in Changloon.

I refueled at Caltex in Changloon, which is the last petrol (on this side) heading towards the border. I arrived at the station at 6:30am but they weren't open yet :P

The rest of the guys arrived at Petronas Changloon for their Fajr prayer at around 6:45am. We regrouped after that for our insurance and white card. It was breakfast right after that.

It was then off to the border for the usual 'border-crossing-procedures'. We left the border and headed to Hat Yai at around 10am.

SAL:

Sal took the normal flight route. It was quite an experience for her as it was her first time coming to Thailand NOT using the road. Some pictures of her along the way:

She then took a taxi to the hotel.... all by herself! Bravo Sal! :)

BACK TOGETHER AGAIN :)

We are back together again! Yaaay! Straight to the hotel.

* We stayed at the same hotel as before, GRAND PLAZA HOTEL. The parking for our bikes are easy and secured, PLUS, it was near to all the halal restaurant in Hat Yai. *

The first thing to do was to get something to eat. Both of us were hungry and I won't have my lunch without her :)

Later that night, we had our group dinner. It was delicious, spicy....but a lot of fun! :D

After everyone has their stomach filled, it was time to spend some money.....on stuff you already have. hahahaha :P

Spend spend and spend some more! hahahaha

Then we had a late night 'minum minum' before going to bed

Day 2, we started our day with some nice 'familiar' breakfast at one of the muslim restaurant here before going to wherever it is we needed to go.

We then went our separate ways again. I went with a few friends to Cha Na for lunch whereas Sal went to the local market to see what they sell there.

KH:

A few of us rode to Cha Na to grab our lunch. The town is located about 40km away from Hat Yai. I was to lazy to ride so I hopped on the back of my friend's BMW K1600GTL which was literally like sitting on a moving sofa.

SAL:

Sal followed the rest of the gang to another shopping place in Hat Yai...however, according to her, it was not as exciting or cheap as the one we went the night before.

We visited the floating market last time we were here, so it was right that we went there again. Only this time, it was raining all the way.

The floating market was different compared to three years ago. It was now more 'commercialized' with a proper concrete rather than a wooden jetty. I guess that's because it is one of the tourist attraction in Hat Yai.

It was nasi lemak for dinner as we packed for our journey home

Day 3, the journey home. Just like Day 1, we both part ways for our journey back to Malaysia

KH:

I left Hat Yai very early at around 7:30am as I didn't want to be caught at the border.....and true enough I reached the border at around 8:15am with only 3 people at the immigration. I rode solo all the way home

SAL:

Sal had her breakfast in Hat Yai before leaving to the airport. Her plane was scheduled at 12:30pm local time (1:30pm Malaysian) so she had all the time in the world. She took a taxi to the airport and flew home. Again....bravo to you! :)

By that evening, we were both home. What  a memorable journey, a one-legged-guy and a pregnant girl's trip to Hat Yai :)
