Thailand 'Mini' Adventure (The ride before Ramadhan)

SAL: "psssssttttt... Now it's my turn to do the writing! yay! #hogsthecomputerwhileheisonaboysnightout. haha"

The start of the journey this time was a bit of a bump. We almost called it off because precisely 2 days before we departed, Medusa's oil cooler leaked. So on Monday night (17th June 2013) we sent Medusa for repairs at Mohan's. In case you were wondering, Mohan is what we call an expert in Ducatis. He has a pretty small workshop somewhere in the industrial area of Kg Sg Ramal, Kajang, but his workmanship is great!

This is Mohan's place by the way ;)

So now that Medusa is up and ready for the journey from Puchong - Trang - Koh Lanta - Dannok - Puchong, we began our trip with Bismillah very early on Friday morning (21st June 2013). We left home at about 5.00am and stopped at RNR Tapah for Subuh and to refuel. It was 6.30am then.

 At R&R Tapah
We then proceeded our journey straight to R&R Gurun for the next refuel pit-stop and light brekkie (Milk and Chocolate bun. lol), then we continued on straight to Thailand Immigration Complex. We arrived at the immigration at 10.35am and settled all documentations by 11.00am.

Now its time to say Bye Bye Malaysia!
We had a quick lunch and started riding again, heading straight to Trang. Along the way KH felt super sleepy so we stopped at a random bus stop along the highway for a 20minutes nap. I on the other hand was merely a 'parasite' throughout the trip... so didn't feel that sleepy. lol.

Medusa waits patiently by
the roadside as KH takes
his nap.

We then made our way to Krabi district, but we ended up going in circles instead. We followed highway 4 but missed the exit to route 419 heading to Wang Wiset. We tried asking for direction but we had no idea what the crap the locals were saying. haha! We decided to go to Trang to ask for a friend's help, only to find out that Trang to Koh Lanta is another 132km! So....we decided to spend the night at Thapap Resort, Trang. Crashing the night here was unplanned! :D

Check out about Thapap Resort here: http://www.agoda.com/asia/thailand/trang/tha_pap_resort.html

We went around town later in the evening, had our dinner at this really cozy restaurant (highly recommended). It's called Koh Li Bong, located about 1km from Robinson. We also checked out the night market.

Snapshots of the Koh Li Bong Restaurant, and of course our favourite diabetic-ish Cha Ron. haha! ;)

Roti with mixed fruits.Yummy! It's a must try thing.

Our AWESOME Dinner!

Among the stuff sold at the Trang night market
One thing to note about Trang, Muslim restaurants is a bit scarce. The next morning we circled the town for an hour before we found this restaurant to get breakfast. We almost gave up and thought of just buying a bun and milk from 7Eleven. lol.

Mutton curry and chicken rice. The curry was a tad bit spicy, but it was really tasty. Yum!

The chicken Murtabak was delicious!

After brekkie, we began our journey to Koh Lanta; left the hotel at 10.00am and again, we got lost! We exited route 419 into route 403 confidently without realizing that we were heading south instead of north. We ended up in Kan Tang village, an additional of 100km to the actual destination. haha!

We turned around and headed back north, only to arrive at Koh Lanta at 3.00pm. We checked in at the Holiday Villa Hotel, but all the troublesome was totally worth it!

One way ferry fare was
THB58 in total for two ferries
KH boarding the big ship. haha

our room... right in front of the hotel's 2nd pool!

KH longed to jump into a pool and when he did, he didn't want to get out! OMG. Look at him. Super excited! haha!

I'm in the pool now... yay! yay! YAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

Haven't tried one of these for a while.
Why not? haha

KH watching Alien and Alien Resurrection from the pool... pfffttt. hahaha

Just for the record, restaurants close early in Koh Lanta. We went out pretty late for dinner coz it was raining, and what's worst was that they made my dinner spicy though we had told them we wanted 'mai piet' (not spicy). The next day, I suffered a horrible tummy ache! My tummy was so gassy, every single thing I ate came back out. :(

Despite the unpleasant feeling, we began and continued our journey back to Malaysia. Us trying to be adventurous, we tried out a shorter route home bypassing local villages through route 4270 with the intention to avoid a 300m stretch of unpaved road along highway 4. We ended up on a 5km stretch of gravel road! hahaha! But the scenery? Splendid! :)

We split the journey home and slept at Dannok that night. We left Dannok the next morning at 10:00am, crossed the border at 10:30am and arrived safely home precisely at 3.00pm. It was an awesome journey altogether and we managed to clock a decent mileage for a 4 days trip! Congratulations KH!

I'm soooooo looking forward to the next big trip now...

Love you KH and thank you readers! :)
